This consultation is open. The final date for feedback is 16 September 2020.

We are consulting on the geographical areas that admission authorities within Torbay use when consulting on their school admission arrangements for 2022-23 and 2023-24.

We are proposing that admission authorities should consult across the whole of the Torbay Council area.

This means that admission authorities will consult with all other admission authorities within Torbay (except that primary admission authorities do not need to consult with secondary admission authorities) as well as with parents of children between the ages of two and eighteen years who might have a child at the school now or in the future, with Devon County Council and with the local diocese (for faith schools).

In addition, we propose that

  • Secondary schools in Brixham and Paignton should consult with the following schools and parents of children attending them:
    • Kingswear Community Primary School
    • Stoke Gabriel Primary School
    • Marldon Church of England Primary School
    • Berry Pomeroy Parochial Church of England Primary School
  • Secondary schools in Torquay should consult with the following schools and parents of children attending them:
    • Kingskerswell Church of England Primary School

We are the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools. Academies (including free schools), foundation (trust) and voluntary aided schools are their own admission authority.
