This consultation is now closed. The final date for feedback was 29 October 2015.

We regulate the retail sale of alcohol, the supply of alcohol in member’s clubs, various forms of entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment under the Licensing Act 2003.  At least every five years we must review and adopt a Statement of Principles (licensing policy) which sets out the principles we will follow when making decisions on new applications, variations to existing licences and review applications under the Act, and also explains our approach to enforcement and details how we will work alongside other agencies to promote the four licensing objectives.

The current policy has been in effect since January 2011 and we are undertaking a full review of its contents.

Licensing Statement of Principles 2016 (Draft)
Draft policies and principles that the Authority will apply when carrying out its licensing functions under the Licensing Act.

The consultation will run for twelve weeks and if you would like to comment we would be grateful for your response by 29 October 2015. Responses received after this date will not be considered.

We have prepared a consultation feedback form which you may wish to use for this purpose.
