The current processing time for new applications and changes to council tax is an average of 12 weeks. If you contact us with a general enquiry online we will reply to you within two working days.

We collect and process personal data, for various legitimate operational, business reasons, and to fulfil our statutory requirements. Your personal information is always held and used in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1998.

We are legally obliged to provide relevant data to the Cabinet Office under Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. It does not require the consent of the individuals concerned under the Data Protection Act 1998.

The current exercise includes data collected for Council Tax and Council Tax Support, Housing and Housing Benefits, Payroll and Pensions, Payments, Electoral Register, Student Loans, Transport passes and permits (concessionary and blue badges), Insurance claimants and Licenses and direct payments.

In 2018 we are participating in a pilot exercise to scope with the Cabinet Office data-matching for Business Rates.
