Safeguarding Leads’ covers roles including: DSL; Named Nurse; named Lead Professional; and Designated Safeguarding Person.
The statutory agencies of the Torbay Safeguarding Children Partnership have subscribed in advance
to ensure that Police, Health and Children’s Services staff can attend these courses without
additional cost. To support our local partnership, this offer has also been extended to Designated
Safeguarding Leads in education settings, as well as Voluntary Sector Organisations and Charities.

With the exception of Torbay’s ‘Level 3 Safeguarding Children’ training (Torbay’s statutory training
offer for safeguarding leads), all courses listed here are funded for those above – some external
courses are directly funded by the TSCP, some provided free by Torbay Council Children’s Services
and some through multi-agency trainer collaboration. Our aim is to maximise impact for improving
the lives of Torbay’s children and young people.
