Finding out what young people think of the services on offer to them in Torbay has been a key part of the Youth Service’s commitment to having a Youth Offer that is sufficient to meet their needs, whilst improving young people’s well-being - and their personal and social development. Several practitioner visioning events have also taken place with the Community and Voluntary sector in partnership with the Local Authority over the last 5 to 6 years to look at how Services can further work together in partnership to improve the opportunities for young people with the resources available.
Groups within the Community and Voluntary Sector and within the Local Authority have captured the voices of young people across Torbay with regards to the Offer and young people have taken part in both a paper and on line survey in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and a radio consultation took place to gain young people’s views for 2016 -17 with one of our partner organisations leading on this: Sound Communities.
Thank you to those of you who were able to encourage young people to take part. We think you will agree the results are very interesting and illuminating. If you would like us to come into your provisions to do focus group sessions or you would like to sign up to the 2018 survey please contact us.
