Assistant Director, Planning, Housing and Climate Emergency

Torbay is a beautiful place to live and work, and is experiencing a revival with considerable new investment in the area, along with great potential for further regeneration. Apart from the fantastic coastline and heritage of Torbay, Dartmoor is on the doorstep, along with easy access to Exeter and the wider south west.   The Spatial Planning Service is undergoing a renaissance and we have an enthusiastic and talented team working to help ensure that the service areas will fulfil their potential. The post has been specifically designed to combine the key functions of Spatial Planning, Development Management, Building Control, Strategic Transport Planning, Housing Delivery and Climate Change to deliver a planned and coordinated approach to the regeneration of the bay.

We want to appoint an exceptional and enthusiastic Assistant Director who can build on the solid foundation of our recent achievements, and ensure that the service is able to make a substantial and positive impact.   We want your professional ambition to match our strategic aspirations and for you to make a real difference to the future of Torbay.
