Stop telegraph poles wrecking Brixham's sea views!
The proposed poles will badly damage the uninterrupted views that we currently enjoy. If the view is impaired, then the impact upon this neighbourhood of Brixham will be severe for the many homeowners who chose this area for its astounding beauty.
We do not think it appropriate to allow the installation of
street furniture of such size and scale in this area of Brixham
which is heavily reliant on tourism and is within the:
• South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)
• The English Riviera (Torbay) UNESCO Global Geopark.
We are also immediately adjacent to the Berry Head Nature Reserve
and the area from Berry Head To Sharkham Point is a Site of also an
area of Special Scientific Interest. The footpath to Berry Head
starts at the end of Lands Road.
Across Brixham other sea-facing streets are being microtrenched
by Virgin Media to run IT fibre, why cannot this be done by
Openreach on Lands Road? And if they are trying to put poles up in
Lands Rd, then they will continue the poles-not-trenches policy
elsewhere in Brixham and across the Bay. Sign now and keep new
telegraph poles out of Brixham
