To receive apologies for absence, including notifications of any changes to the membership of the Committee.

Minutes:

An apology for absence was received from Councillor Dart.

 

In accordance with the wishes of the Conservative Group, the membership of the Committee was amended by including Councillor David Thomas instead of Councillor Mills.

The Committee considered an application for extensions and renovations to existing house and garage: single storey lower ground floor extension to rear (SE) with terrace over, two storey side extension (SW), single storey upper ground floor extension to side (NE), raise roof ridge line and change roof profile to form attic room and changes to fenestration (part retrospective).

 

Prior to the meeting, Members of the Planning Committee undertook a virtual site visit and written representations were available on the Council’s Website.  At the meeting Carl Taylor and Nigel Goodman addressed the Committee against the application, Dr Horder on behalf of the Neighbourhood Forum addressed the meeting and Anthony Payneaddressed the Committee in support of the application. In accordance with Standing Order B4.1 Councillors Brook and Foster addressed the Committee.

 

Resolved:

 

Refused on the grounds that the proposal was contrary to Policy TH12 of the Local Plan and that the scale, height and massing of the proposal would be out of keeping with local area and have a detrimental impact on the neighbouring conservation area.

The Committee considered an application for the installation of a window and a door.

 

Prior to the meeting, Members of the Planning Committee undertook a virtual site visit and written representations were on the Council’s Website.  At the meeting Susie Drew addressed the Committee against the application and Roger Carter on behalf of the Neighbourhood Forum addressed the meeting.  In accordance with Standing Order B4.1 Councillors Amil and Barrand addressed the meeting. 

 

Resolved:

 

Approved with the conditions set out in the submitted report including an additional condition as set out below and the final drafting of conditions addressing any further material considerations that may come to light being delegated to the Assistant Director for Planning, Housing and Climate Emergency:

 

prior of the insertion of the new door the area of land as identified to the east side of the garage shall be clear of obstructions made available for the parking of cars and retained at all times.

Approved, subject to the conditions set out in the submitted report with the final drafting of conditions being delegated to the Assistant Director of Planning, Housing and Climate Emergency and the resolution of any new material conditions that may come to light being delegated to the Assistant Director of Planning, Housing and Climate Emergency, including the addition of any necessary conditions or obligations.
