Financial Support for those entering Full-Time Higher Education

Local authorities no longer have responsibility for processing applications for students starting new full-time Higher Education courses from September/October 2009 onwards.  New students have to apply directly to Student Finance England.  This also applies to students who are going on to do a top-up degree course from a two year HND or Foundation Degree.
Students and their parents/sponsors are able to apply online on the Student Finance England website.  This website will guide students and their parents through the application process.  An online Student Finance Calculator will help you work out how much support you are eligible to receive and also see what bursaries may be available at your preferred university or college.
If at any time you need assistance or advice you can call the Student Finance England Helpline: 0845 300 50 90.
Their address is:
       Student Finance England
       PO Box 210
       Darlington
       DL1 9HJ
Students who commenced their courses prior to September 2009 will continue to have their applications dealt with by Torbay Council.  They will be able to reapply online or alternatively complete a PR1 application form.
Our office is open to visitors between 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4pm on Friday.
