Building Blocks to Recovery- full document and summary is a strategy or plan around providing mental health services (see Related Documents). The strategy covers Torbay mental health, housing support, accommodation and day services from 2011-2016. This is a partnership approach between Torbay Council, Torbay Care Trust and Devon Partnership Trust to develop and provide services. Our plan is to achieve the best recovery possible for people with mental ill health by supporting them to achieve the outcomes they identify and choose.
The Housing and Support Commissioning Strategy for Children, Families and Young People 2011–2013 is in the Related Documents section at the bottom of the page. This document sets out proposals for the commissioning (planning, selecting and reviewing) of services for families and young people that will promote independent living outcomes and avoid homelessness.
The draft Torbay Together Involvement Strategy, 'Putting People at the Centre of Decision Making' (see Related Documents) has been developed by the Torbay Together Involvement Group. The aim of this strategy is to ensure that people who live, work and visit Torbay are fully involved in all key decisions in the design and buying of services. We will do this by joining up resources and plans across the Torbay Strategic Partnership, or ‘Torbay Together,’ organisations which include Torbay Council, Community and Voluntary Action Torbay, Torbay Care Trust, the Police and probation.
The Future of Housing in Torbay - a Partnership Strategy 2008-2011 aims to meet the needs of the people of Torbay. Theme 3 is 'Assisting Independent Living' which covers the support services provided by the Supporting People programme
Torbay has developed a new approach to help people move on from Supporting People services and access appropriate accommodation. Lack of people moving on can block up services meaning less vacancies for others who need them. The Policy For Strategic Move On is in the related documents section at the bottom of the page.
