Secondary School Admissions

If your child was born between 1 September 2002 and 31 August 2003 you must apply for a secondary place between 1 September and 31 October 2013.

You will be able to apply online if you return to this website on or after 1 September 2013. Paper application forms will be available from your child’s primary school or the local Connections office (based in the libraries at Brixham and Paignton and at the side of the Town Hall in Torquay).

If you want your child to attend a selective school you will need to complete a registration form (below) and return it to your preferred selective school by 13 September 2013.

Even if you complete a registration form, you will still need to complete the council’s application form during September or October.

All secondary schools have open days for parents and children in June/July and/or at the beginning of the autumn term. You will have an opportunity to look around the schools and talk to staff about any individual aspect of your child’s education. Open days are as follows:

Torquay Girls’ Grammar School	25 June: 2-3.30pm, 6.45-8.30pm 10 September: 2-3.30pm, 6.45-8.30pm
Westlands School	19 June: 4-7pm 11 September: 4-7pm
