Secondary School Admissions

The closing date to apply for a secondary school place for September 2012 has now passed.
If you have not yet applied for a secondary school place for September 2012 and your child was born between 1 September 2000 and 31 August 2001 you will need to complete form CAF 1 and return it either to your child’s current primary school or to:
Admissions & Students Services,
Ground Floor, Oldway Mansion,
c/o Torbay Town Hall,
Castle Circus,
TQ1 3DR
You can download form CAF 1 below, or you can phone 01803 208908 to ask for a paper copy. Remember to keep a copy of the form for yourself.
Before applying you should read the TIPS 1 brochure, which is available to download below. This contains details of the application process and the admission criteria for each secondary school. Some schools have supplementary forms that will also need to be completed. You can find the form for St Cuthbert Mayne Joint Catholic and Church of England Comprehensive School on page 45 of the TIPS 1 booklet. This should be sent directly to the school.
Your application will be treated as a ‘late’ application. This means a place will be allocated for your child after all applications received on time have been processed. If you are applying for a place at a selective school, as well as completing form CAF1 you will need to contact the school directly to arrange for your child to sit a selective test.
We may not notify you about the school place allocated for your child until after the main allocation day.
If you move home after the closing date and need to change your preferences please phone 01803 208908 for advice.
