Most students moving into Year 10 will choose to stay with their current secondary school to study for GCSEs. During Year 9, secondary schools run careers events and provide information about options that students can choose for GCSE.
However, some students prefer to specialise early and there are two post-14 schools in Torbay and one in South Devon.
The closing date for applications for Devon Studio School and South Devon University Technical College was 31 October 2016.
You can still apply but your application will be late and may not be processed until all the on-time applications have been processed.
Before applying you should read the TIPS 8 Booklet which contains details of the application process, and the secondary supplement which contains a summary of the admission criteria for each secondary school in Torbay. To apply for a place in year 10 at any other Torbay school you should use the In Year admission process. Admission criteria for other secondary schools in Devon can be found on the schools’ websites.
