A renewal of vows is a formal way for couples to renew their marriage vows. It has no legal status and is available to any couple no matter how long they have been married.
You can personalise your ceremony by including readings and music. You can include relatives and friends in the ceremony, have personal vows of commitment, give new wedding rings or rededicate your existing rings.
Wherever the ceremony is held it will be conducted by staff from the local Register Office. You should contact the venue first to make sure that the date you want is available and you are happy with their costs.
Once you have confirmed details with the venue you need to book the registrar to conduct the ceremony. If you are holding the ceremony in Torbay you should complete Book a date for your ceremony.
You will receive a commemorative certificate to mark the occasion.
A renewal of vows ceremony usually lasts between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the number of options and the readings chosen.
The fee is £180 and a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.
