The English Riviera Wheel is set to open to the public on Saturday 28 March until Sunday 1 November.

Hours of operation will be from 10am until 10pm during school holidays and 10am until 8pm during non-school holiday periods.

The wheel, at a height of nearly 60 metres, is taller than Nelson's Column and provides breathtaking 360 degree views across the Bay. It will once again be located in Princess Gardens, Torquay.

The wheel, almost completely silent in operation, features the very latest in observation wheel technology and is suitable for all ages. It has 40 enclosed lit gondolas, each of which can carry up to six passengers and can also take wheelchairs.

Torbay’s Mayor Gordon Oliver said: "It is wonderful to have the wheel returning again this year; it offers spectacular views across our beautiful Bay for all to see. It enhances the seafront location and brings many people to Torquay. We are very pleased to welcome it back.”

Mellors Group. Group Director James Mellor said: “We are really looking forward to returning to Torbay with the English Riviera Wheel. It has proved very popular during its three visits to the Bay and has given the profile of the area a much deserved boost. We hope that residents, tourists and businesses will once again support us.”

Carolyn Custerson, CEO, English Riviera Tourism Company, said: “We are thrilled that the English Riviera Wheel is returning to the resort for 2015 as it proved a very popular new attraction and provides visitors with a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the amazing panoramic views across South Devon’s Beautiful Bay.”
