Torbay Local Access Forum
The Torbay Local Access Forum (TLAF) was set up in June 2003. The TLAF is a statutory forum which was set up under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act (CROW) 2000 and is independent of Torbay Council and central government.
The current Forum Members are:
- Councillor Ian Doggett
- Robert Boyd
- Ms J E Green
- John Gibson
- Wanda Hollingworth
- Peter Huff
- Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust
Forum Duties
The main duties of the access forum are:
- To comment on the open access maps and the rights of way improvement plan.
- The role of the forum in relation to Rights of Way improvement plans may include, for example:
- Commenting on opportunities for access to open countryside especially where new linear routes may be desirable.
The access forum has been asked to look at the public rights of way network and find any missing links, also to find any new routes or come up with areas that need improvement.
- Assisting in setting priorities for implementing their plans.
- Commenting on published draft plans.
The published plan has been developed in partnership with the Local Access Forum and the Council look forward to working with the Forum in implementing the Statement of Actions.
Meetings & Agendas
All meetings are held in the Cecil Room at Oldway Mansion from 7pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend. If you have any questions about the next TLAF meeting please contact the TLAF Secretary.
