The Torbay Libraries website is moving! From June, the new Torbay Libraries website can be found at torbaylibraries.org.uk. You'll still be able to find all the usual information, from events and activities at your local library to books, eBooks and eMagazines. The catalogue will still work in the same way, but some of the pages will have an exciting new look. In the meantime, continue to browse this website to find out all you need to know about Torbay's libraries.

All teachers know about the importance of library, research and literacy skills, especially as the National Curriculum expects children to be aware of different types of books available from the minute they start school.

Libraries are invaluable allies for teachers when it comes to the literacy strategy. Library staff are trained to communicate with children of all ages and will tailor a whole class visit to the needs of a particular teacher. A special ticket is also available exclusively for your class - the children choose the books they would like to take to school.

A special trip to the library is an exciting experience for children and it is often the only opportunity they will have to visit. They are given the chance to look around the specially designed and resourced children’s and teenage libraries, and they can take part in library skills teaching with a difference!
