Reference and Local Studies

You can use our information services even if you are not a member. Our trained staff can help you find the information you want.
All branch libraries have a basic collection of reference books, but the main reference and information library is located at Torquay where staff deal with around 30,000 enquiries every year.
Torquay Reference Library has a wide collection of books, pamphlets, newspapers, magazines, maps, and directories. There is also a collection of information leaflets, copies of which may be taken away free. For those interested in local history, there is an extensive Local Studies collection. Whether you are doing a crossword, looking for somewhere to visit, studying or researching, the Reference staff will be able to help.
