Childminders

Childminders are self employed and work from their own homes providing childcare. Childminders attend a range of different activities such as outdoor environments, childminding groups and children’s centres.  Childminders can apply to become part of the Torbay Childminding Quality Assurance Network. Childminders belonging to this Network may also be accredited, meaning that they can offer 15 hours free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds.

The Torbay Childminders Network

Childminders who join the Torbay Childminder Network receive extra training and can become accredited to teach the same Early Years Curriculum which is taught to three and four year olds in school.  This means that parents can claim the free nursery sessions when their child reaches the age of three.
If you wish to find childminders in Torbay you can contact the Family Information Service on 0800 328 5974 or Search - Childminders.
