- Should I discuss the exclusion with the school staff?
- If the Governors confirm a permanent exclusion, what happens next?
- Who can attend the appeal panel hearing?
Yes, it is important for your child's education that - if you have not already done so - you should arrange to discuss with the Headteacher what has led to the exclusion, and what should happen next.
You will receive a letter within one school day of the meeting giving the reasons for the decision and explaining your right to appeal to an independent appeal panel. The appeal panel must meet within 15 school days of your appeal being lodged.
You, the Headteacher, a representative of the Governing Body and the LEA may make written representations and attend the hearing. Your child may also attend if you wish, and you may also being a friend with you to the meeting.
