Each year the Audit Commission has a responsibility to produce an Annual Audit Letter for Torbay Council.
The letter provides an overall summary of the Audit Commission’s assessment of Torbay Council, drawing on audit, inspection and performance assessment work.
In the reports, the Commission summarises findings and conclusions from the statutory audit, which have previously been reported to the Council by their appointed auditor. The Audit Commission can also use this document to identify failing services where action may be necessary, and also enable the Government to assess how well its policies are being implemented in Torbay.
