Mid-Devon Cycling Club
Aimed at riders in Torbay and Teignbridge with regular rides for all ages and abilities, and major annual cycling events including June’s Dartmoor Classic Cyclosportive . Its junior section, 'Abbrook Aces', hold fortnightly fun coaching sessions for ages 4-16 years run by British Cycling qualified coaches.
British Cycling is the internationally recognised governing body of cycle sport in the UK, dealing with all disciplines of cycling. Over recent years, it has widened its scope into leisure cycling and now organises local leisure rides called 'Sky Rides ' which include fun and informal rides specifically for women (Breeze).
Sustrans is the UK's leading sustainable transport charity dedicated to creating an environment to help people walk and cycle more during their normal daily lives. They provide lots of route advice as well as information for all groups including young people and adults looking for training.
IMBA-UK represents mountain bikers in the UK.They are dedicated to opening new trails and keeping access to existing routes. They support volunteer trail work, cooperating with trail user groups, land managers and public bodies, encouraging responsible riding and trail building.
AS well as being the UK’s largest cycling charity, Cyclists Touring Club Devon is a National Cycling Club with a local branch here in Torbay. Their motto is ‘a seriously sociable cycling club’ and they offer in Torbay 5 weekly rides (café or pub stop included!). Short breaks, holidays, social events and family rides are also organised.
Teign Valley Pedal Bashers
Teign Valley Pedal Bashers is a club for people who own a bike, rather than a club for cyclists with its roots from cross country running. It organises weekend and weekdays off road rides from various points across south and east Devon, with on-road alternatives. And of course as a more social cycling group, pub stops have been known!
Haldon Forest Park
Haldon Forest Park is a purpose-built mountain bike centre on the outskirts of Exeter, Haldon Forest offers off-road cycling to suit all ages and abilities. Haldon Forest is also home to Exeter Mountain Bike Club , which has something for everyone from regular young people’ s sessions with British Cycling qualified coaches to family rides, night rides and weekends away. Decoy BMX Club
Decoy BMX club are based at the rear of Decoy country park in Newton Abbot. They focus on the racing discipline of BMX. They are a friendly & well organised club who hold regular practice and coaching sessions with British Cycling qualified coaches for members and non members alike. Beginner sessions are also available.
Parkfield Torbay is a purpose built centre including a BMX track used for Regional BMX Events and is home to the Torbay BMX Club.It also has a sports hall, indoor climbing wall, skatepark, recording rooms, Apple Mac Media Suite and Café.
