Community Composting

Allotment sites are an excellent area to start a community-composting project.
There are start up grants available to groups and also help with the shredding of material, prior to composting.
Torbay Council also pays Recycling Credits to community groups. This is cash given to groups for each tonne of material which otherwise would have been landfilled. For the groups this amounts to a form of core funding – currently in Torbay the Recycling Credit rate is £54.90 per tonne.
