Torbay Council operates 43 Car parks across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, providing over 8,000 spaces with the majority of our car parks using the pay and display system. Various permits are available to purchase for use in the car parks. These can be purchased at any of our three Connections offices (please allow 5 working days for delivery) and the weekly ones can also be purchased at the Tourist Information Centres within the bay. Alternativley you can apply online.
CCTV monitors seven multi-storeys and a number of our surface car parks with regular patrols made in all car parks by Civil Enforcement Officers.
For further information on all aspects of parking in Torbay contact the Car Parks department.
A number of Council operated car parks have also been awarded Park Mark Awards - an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers aimed at reducing crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities.
Safer parking status, Park Mark®, is awarded to parking facilities that have met the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police.
These requirements mean the parking operator has put in place measures that help to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, thereby doing everything they can to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime in their parking facility.
For customers, using a Park Mark® Safer Parking facility means that the area has been vetted by the Police and has measures in place to create a safe environment. A link to the Park Mark Award website is below and lists the various Car Parks that have been awarded safer parking status.
