Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual
issued by the D.E.T.R.
This is a legal requirement under the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and ensures that any contractor that works on the highway is qualified to do so. The signs and barriers referred to are the type you see on all roadworks i.e. Road Works Ahead and Road Narrows. They are required to ensure motorist and pedestrians are guided safely past the works.
