Torbay Ring & Ride Community Bus Services provide a vital link for Torbay residents who have difficulty using conventional transport due to disability, age or other mobility restrictions.

Let the tail-lift minibus pick you up from your home and take you to popular locations across Torbay. The minibus will then return you to your home.

On occasion, the Ring & Ride Bus Service provides trips to various towns and shopping centres which have included: Trago Mills, Fermoys Garden Centre, Totnes, Teignmouth and Dawlish.

You can request a Flyer from for day trips during school holidays from the Ring and Ride Co-ordinator Monday to Friday 9.00am-1.00pm.

Times vary according to the driver’s schedule. Fares include return journey. There are no single journey charges. These fares apply from 1 April 2008 until March 2008. Drop off and pick-up point for Torquay is Market Street & Shopmobility. For Paignton it is Hyde Road & Shopmobility.

How to book your Ring & Ride Journey

Look at the area map (see Related Documents) and the timetable above for the day and time of journeys available from your area.

Telephone the Ring & Ride Co-ordinator between 9.00am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday at least one working day in advance to book your seat. Please inform the Co-ordinator if you have any special needs or require a space for a wheelchair or trolley.

Please ensure you are ready at the pickup time as you may not be the first to be collected. Due to the driver’s varying schedule pick-up times can change from day to day so please be patient.

Pay the driver your fare when you board the bus.

Your Return Journey

Before disembarking the bus, the driver will inform you of the return time. Please be ready to be picked up at the boarding point at this time. Failure to do so will result in you having to organise your own transport home.

Private Hire

Torbay Council have vehicles available for private hire by Voluntary Groups and charitable organisations, requiring special needs transport. The vehicles are available for private hire during evenings, weekends and some weekdays. For further information, please contact the Ring & Ride Co-ordinator. Driver hire is also available.

Shopmobility

We can also collect and drop residents at Shopmobility locations in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
