Holiday Vaccinations

Before jetting off on holiday or on a business trip it is worth taking a few moments to consider that travelling around the world always brings with it some risks to health.

Vaccinations are required when travelling to certain countries, the number and type of immunisations vary from country to country.

The Department of Health's Travel Advice website has advice on:

  • avoiding health risks, including country specific advice on vaccinations
  • planning for healthy travel
  • obtaining emergency medical treatment
  • an E111 form, which entitles you to free or reduced-cost emergency medical treatment in some European countries.

The website information is based on the Health Advice for Travellers booklet which is available at Post Offices, or by calling the Health Literature Line 0800 555 777.

For wider information about risks when you travel overseas see the Foreign Office website.

Your GP should also be able to give you advice and administer vaccinations or refer you to someone who can.

Please contact your Doctor at least 6-8 weeks prior to travelling to discuss your requirements.
