By visiting the Active Places website you will find more than 10,000 places to play sport, get fit and have fun. This is an exciting database of sports facilities in England. This easy-to-use website is there to encourage everyone in the country to get active by helping them to find out about sports and fitness facilities in their area. It is free to use and the most comprehensive database of its kind in England.

Active places has information about sports and recreation facilities all around England covering:

  • Sports Halls
  • Swimming pools
  • Synthetic turf pitches
  • Ice rinks
  • Health and fitness facilities
  • Outdoor athletics tracks
  • Indoor tennis centres
  • Indoor bowls facilities
  • Golf courses
  • Ski slopes

Active Places is all part of the governments goal of getting 70% of all the population active for 30 minutes, five times a week, by 2020.
