Torbay Park & Recreation Areas

You will notice as you enter Torbay from Newton Abbot, the Council is justifiably proud of its Horticultural displays and its many features throughout the Bay. On a large grass slope to the left hand side of the highway, you cannot miss the seven metre high famous 'English Riviera' Palm Logo, which is planted with approximately 1,000 plants twice annually.
Torbay has its own micro climate, enabling the planting of many unusual and sub-tropical species of plants. Protected by the backdrop of Dartmoor, Torbay has a excellent mild climate that has proved to be a success when it comes to growing such plants as Banana and Tree Ferns, a rare sight indeed in the British Isles.
The parks and open spaces in Torbay are listed below:
Torquay
Paignton
Brixham

Park Wardens

There are currently four Park Wardens who work on a rota basis, working within the parks of Torbay.

Torbay Environment Forum
