Mobile Library
The one-stop shop that stops near you!
The mobile library carries over 2000 books (with a regular change of stock) for readers of all ages, as well as Talking Books, CDs, Videos and information resources.
The library makes both weekly and fortnightly stops at dozens of locations around Torbay, and membership is FREE! All we need from you is proof of your name and address (a benefit book, electricity bill, driving licence etc).
We can also order items for you for a small reservation charge, but there are no charges for late return of items to the mobile library (but do try and return them at your next opportunity as someone may be waiting to borrow them!)
On occasions heavy traffic may slow the mobile library's progress, so dont worry if it does not arrive precisely on time. In the rare event of a vehicle breakdown, we will send word ahead to let you know. If in doubt, (or if you have any other queries about the mobile library) you can call Paignton Library on 01803 208321 for information.
Difficulties with steps or hearing?
The mobile library is fitted with a wheelchair hoist and grab rails, and the Librarian is always on hand to provide assistance. There are also induction loop facilities for people with hearing difficulties.
