Customer Feedback and Surveys

We believe in talking to our customers.

Whether it's what you tell us across the service counter or through the various feedback opportunities available, your opinion matters.

To provide an up to date library and information service that meets our customers' needs, we ask for your views through regular surveys. Here are the main points from just some of them.

Customer Satisfaction Survey 2008

In July this year, customers were asked to complete a survey form which asked about their use of the library and what they thought about the service they were getting.

The proportion of customers who thought the following aspects of the library service were either good or very good were as follows:

A safe place to visit98.94%
Assistance with enquiries98.71%
The library is easy to get to97.37%
The library overall96.84%
The information and enquiry service96.76%
Success in finding something out90.48%
The opening hours89.12%
The choice of books83.51%

Children's PLUS 2007

Torbay Council carried out a Children’s PLUS (Public Library User Survey) in all five of their libraries during October 2007. All five libraries undertook a census survey, which involved a questionnaire being issued to every child that walked in through each library’s door throughout the week. A total of 1,032 questionnaires were completed.

Adult PLUS 2006

The Library carried out an Adult PLUS (Public Library User Survey) in all five of their libraries in 2006. Over 2000 questionnaires were issued which asked customers about their use of the library and what they thought of the services on offer.
