Tide and Cill Times

For tidal predictions, sea charts, Notices to Mariners please visit the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office website. For free Tor Bay tidal predictions for today and the next 6 days please visit the UKHO EasyTide page, select the free predictions option, locate Torbay on the overview map and select Torquay Port.

Each harbour office holds details of tide times for Tor Bay, please contact either Brixham, Paignton or Torquay harbour offices for further details on tide times (contact details can be found at the bottom of this page).  Tide Time booklets are available from each harbour office free of charge, however, please be advised that they disappear quickly so they are subject to availability!

Operating hours for the Bridge and Cill, subject to tides are 0700 - 2100 hours during the summer(1st May to 30th September) and 0800 - 1700 during the winter (1st October to 30th April).  However, opening arrangements outside these hours can be arranged with prior notice (minimum of two hours).  

Remember, the weather can have quite a dramatic effect on the tides.  A change in pressure can cause a deviation in the height of the tide.  Also, winds can have an affect on the height of the sea level.  An onshore wind will cause an increase in the sea level by the coast and an offshore wind will cause a drop in the sea level by the coast.  For these reasons please be aware that the cill times are only a prediction and times might vary slightly.
