Preston Sands

Preston is a red sand beach adjacent to Paignton sands.  A popular family beach with a long promenade lined with colourful beach huts.  Behind the beach is Preston Green a safe area for the children to have fun or play a game of cricket.  At the north end of the beach at low tide are rock pools to explore.

Transport:Close to Paignton, clearly signposted.  There is easy access via local bus routes. Bus No. 12. Preston can easily be reached on foot from nearby Paignton as well as Preston.
Disabled Access:The area is quite flat and has excellent access for disabled people and wheel chairs. A beach wheel chair is available.
Dogs:Banned during the summer season. There is a dog exercise area on the green.
Safety:Beach Managers, Supervision, Life buoys, Warning flags, First aid, Lost child centre and Patrol boat
Facilities:Cafe/restaurant, Beach huts, Toilets (open all year), Disabled visitors’ facilities, Disabled access to beach, Deckchair hire, Slipway, Promenade and Pier
Wet Weather Facilities:Amusement arcade on the pier and in town centre
Car Park:Colin Road Car Park across a road with disabled visitors’ spaces. There is some street parking.
Surrounding Area:Town with shops and Harbour
