Modernisation Schemes
This type of improvement is the most extensive type of improvement carried out by the Housing Associations and is carried out throughout the year.
These properties have usually been identified as needing modernisation works to bring them up to modern day standards. Extensive consultation is carried out with tenants before work commences.
The work carried out will generally include:
- A rewire of the property
- New upvc windows
- New external doors
- New kitchen units
- New bathroom fittings
- Energy efficiency measures
In addition the tenant can choose work up to a certain monetary value. This could:
- Flooring in the kitchen or bathroom
- Internal doors
- Structural alterations to the layout of the property
