Model policies and procedures such as those provided below are intended to provide local guidance to maintained schools.
Such model policies and procedures can be of value to schools but achieve nothing if they are seen as an end in themselves.
The key to ensuring they are meaningful is making sure that once they are endorsed and adopted by the full governing body they are fully embraced by the school staff through effective leadership, induction, training - including refresher training, that ensures they are effectively implemented.
