When a child or young person is missing, In all cases it is advised that you first contact the Police and file a missing persons report, listen and carry out Police advice.

In Torbay, we have a Missing Person's Protocol for children who run away from home or care.  This is an agreement between the Police, Children's Services and the Children's Society which outlines the actions to be taken by all those involved so that we can identify the risks to the young person and find them as quickly as possible.

Young people who are reported as missing will have the opportunity for an independent interview to share any concerns and identify services that might be able to provide support to prevent further occurrences.
