Garden Waste

The Council is doing the 'green thing' by asking residents not to use the refuse collection system to dispose of their garden cuttings and clippings. Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in the amount of domestic garden waste produced so please continue to either compost at home or take your waste to Yalberton 'Recycling Centre' which is open 7 days per week from 8.00am to 4.20pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 4.00pm over the weekends.

In the year 2003/2004 we sent about 2,500 tonnes of domestic green waste for composting, so keep up the good work.  If you cannot bring your garden waste to the Paignton Recycling Centre at Yalberton, there is special cash on collection service that can be arranged. This service is offered at a charge of £6.00 for up to 8 bags and 50p for every additional one. For further details of this service phone (01803) 402934.  For details of opening hours and restrictions visit the Paignton Recycling Centre page.
