Induction at Torbay
All new employees will receive a Personal Information Folder and structured Induction programme including the opportunity to attend the Torbay Starters Exhibition.
TSE - Torbay Starters Exhibition
The TSE is an opportunity for new employees to find out about the organisation they work for, to meet other new people and to get information – lots of information! Whatever the job, the TSE will be relevant.
Why are we doing it?
We want everyone to feel part of the Council, to know what Services are provided by the Council, and to understand how their job fits in with what the Council, as a whole, is trying to achieve. We want people to feel informed and to have the opportunity to raise questions directly and individually with people from different areas of the Council.
What will happen there?
Dont worry...it doesn't involve sitting in a dark room, listening to people talking for hours and having to ask questions in front of 50 others! It will be quite the opposite – there will be a couple of presentations at the start, but for no longer than 45 minutes: The first presentation will be by a Human Resources Director/Manager covering things like pay day, health, welfare and safety, security and benefits; there will then be a presentation by the Managing Director/Leader of the Council* about the Council – its core values and strategic direction.
Attendees will then have 1 ½ hours to 'shop' for information at the various exhibition stands representing the Council's Directorates, functions, unions etc. The event finishes with light refreshments and a closing message from the Managing Director/Leader of the Council*.
*subject to availability: If unavailable, another Director will attend
