Water Hygiene
In order to comply with Statutory Regulations there is a duty on schools to maintain water quality. To support this the LA paid for a Risk Assessment to be carried out at each school. Training was also offered for school staff, undertaken by Environment Plus, in March and June of this year.
The resulting works from the assessments were combined into one capital project and were added to the Capital Repairs and Maintenance programme for 2003/04, because the LA recognised that the findings of the survey placed the schools in an onerous position.
The Risk Assessments also detail the required ongoing works in order to maintain the water quality. To assist schools with these legal duties, Property Services have created an SLA, as part of the Repairs and Maintenance SLAs.
