Young people who have been involved in lots of different decision-making things in Torbay. Here are a few to show you the different things you could be doing:
The Top 10 Tips (that you think make getting involved easier for you)
Young People from FUNK (Film Us Know Krew) HYPA (Helping Young People Achieve), and TNT wrote their Top 10 Tips for Participation and made a DVD so that adults know exactly what they need to do to make it easy for us to be involved.
They said:
Teen Network Torbay won the Phillip Lawrence Award for all the work they have done in making sure young people’s views were listened to in Torbay.

They have started the work that ended up being “Speak Out” in 2004. They also have changed the law by making sure ASB Exclusion Zones are not put in place without consultation with young people, They have trained adults from the Council in how to involve children and young people in their own designed training called “Big Cheeses Listen Up!” and have interviewed Young People all over Torbay about their fears and experiences of crime in Torbay – “Fed Up With Being Called A YOB?”
They have been on the 6 o’clock news, BBC News 24 and featured in Channel 4 documentary.
Engaged

“SPEAK OUT” Torbay’s young people’s version of the Participation Strategy has been written by us, Engaged!
Engaged is made up from 3 different groups, who came together to make a poster, leaflet and this website so you know you have the RIGHT to be involved.
We chose the name Engaged because of the three different groups coming together and bonding with each other. We met new people and got to know them better.
The reason why we think you should get involved because you can have a say so children and young people know as well as adults.
We think it’s important because three different voices in one is better and louder than one single voice.
We would like to thank:
