New Paignton Community Library
Building the dream
Construction work in the former railway and goods yard site in Paignton’s Station Lane began in earnest in May, bringing Torbay Council’s new community library and hub considerably closer to becoming a reality. The building is expected to take contractors
BAM approximately 65 weeks to complete, giving a projected opening time of September 2010.
BAM have installed ‘portholes’ at the building site, so you can go along to Station Lane and see this exciting new development for Paignton take shape, brick by brick. A genuinely exciting reason to ‘watch this space’!
Take a look at the architectural plans and artist impressions below - we welcome your feedback on these plans and you can do so in one of two ways:
- There is a public information display at Paignton Library, Courtland Road, where you can view the plans and leave written comments.
- Use the feedback links in the right hand column of this page
We will also be issuing
Update newletters (see
Related Documents) about progress on the new build, and you check out the first issue in our Related Documents section.
We'll also keep you informed of new developments via the display boards at Paignton Library, through news releases, on our website and through further consultation opportunities. At every stage of the process, we welcome your views and ideas on how you want your library to look, to work and to feel.
