School Class Visits

All teachers know about the importance of library, research and literacy skills, especially as the National Curriculum expects children to be aware of different types of books available from the minute they start school.

Libraries are invaluable allies for teachers when it comes to the literacy strategy. Library staff are trained to communicate with children of all ages and will tailor a whole class visit to the needs of a particular teacher. A special ticket is also available exclusively for your class - the children choose the books they would like to take to school.

A special trip to the library is an exciting experience for children and it is often the only opportunity they will have to visit. They are given the chance to look around the specially designed and resourced children’s and teenage libraries, and they can take part in library skills teaching with a difference!

For further information contact or call into your local library.
