Holiday Childcare
Holiday clubs and play-schemes are available in Torbay for children aged 3 years to 14 (or 16 if the child has special needs). Holiday play-schemes can be found on school premises as well as in community buildings and private accommodation. Costs vary but the Tax Credits can be used to offset some of these costs to help the working parent.
Some play-schemes are open from 8am to 6pm during school holiday times and offer a range of activities that have been specially chosen to interest the children who attend. Some nurseries extend their facilities during holiday times to accommodate children over the age of 5 years.
All staff, known as play-workers, are trained and all clubs and schemes are registered with Ofsted.
