Drug Services for adults in Torbay are provided by three organisations:

We are a statutory (NHS) provider of drug treatment. The team of consists of nurses, social workers and addiction counsellors, as well as two GPs with Special Interest in substance misuse who work alongside 27 GPs across Torbay. We provide substitute medication (methadone and buprenorphine/subutex) alongside a range of care-planned interventions to drug users assessed as having mild to moderate needs with a primary opiate (usually heroin) dependency.
We offer 'Open Access Sessions' for self referral into drug treatment (including access to EDP & DPT/Shrublands drug services) with no requirement to book appointments. Concerned others can also attend these sessions for information and advice at the following venues:

Advice, treatment, information and support for alcohol and drug users, their families, and friends. Includes prescribing, counselling, and onward referral to other agencies or rehabilitation centres. Referral via Torbay Primary Care Drugs Service (Torbay Care Trust).

Fulfilling lives for people affected by substance misuse and social exclusion. Engaging People In Positive Change – EDP provides advice and information, key working services, one to one support, signposting and referrals to other agencies. We offer structured day programme for adults who are experiencing problems with drug use, their families and the professionals who work with them. We provide a Preparation for Rehabilitation programme to help those adults who wish to access this treatment. Referral via Torbay Primary Care Drugs Service (Torbay Care Trust).
