The proposed station and access to it will be from Newton Road and Riviera Way situated between Scott’s and Brown’s Bridge. The station will increase the opportunities for travel and provide connections for residents, commuters, and students.  In addition to the benefit for residents wishing to travel by rail, it will help to reduce journeys by car to nearby employers, especially Torbay Hospital, Edginswell Business Park and Nicholson Road Business Park and for students attending the nearby school.

A station in this area has been included within local transport plan for several years and more recently it has been included within the new Local Plan and Masterplan. We were successful in securing £4million from the Government’s Growth Deal Funding towards the station costs and are looking close the funding gap with an application to New Stations Fund 2. If the funding bid is successful, construction could start in Summer 2018, with an opening date of Spring 2019.
