Along our stunning coastline and beautiful countryside, behind our sparkling Riviera image are children in poverty and in need of safeguarding and support. They need our help and we’re re-focusing to deliver significant and continuous improvement in their lives. We have invested heavily in our social work teams - they are the most important defences in the lives of our vulnerable children. The social workers we seek relish a professional challenge and share our passion for reaching the highest standards.

So, if you have the skills, experience and commitment our children need, if you want to be part of a Council where your efforts and contributions will be welcomed and noticed, we want to hear from you. Please click on the post that interests you for more information.

Salary: £30,152 to £32,486

We are seeking full time and part time social workers to join our adoption team in Torbay where our work focuses upon recruitment, assessment and support of adopters, as well as family finding, matching and placement of children with adoption plans.

It is an exciting time for adoption as we engage in the project of Regionalisation of Adoption, moving forward from our already established and collaborative relationships with neighbouring Local Authorities and Voluntary Agencies in the area.

You will need to have had experience in child care social work teams and ideally within adoption or permanence teams.

You will have good assessment skills, an ability to engage positively with families and work directly with children. You will be motivated to and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

You should have knowledge of adoption practice and processes in line with national minimum standards and regulations, or demonstrate a real interest in this area of work.
