We are seeking an Early Years specialist to support a young person with a complex medical need. The successful candidate will have proven experience of speech and language and of working with children with health difficulties and will be able to demonstrate commitment and expertise in improving educational and social outcomes for them. This is a lone working post and will be based within a young person’s home. Training and support to meet the needs of this young person will be offered as part of an induction process.

A challenging opportunity for a talented individual has arisen to work in a senior finance role at a Unitary Council on the South Coast of Devon supporting a wide, varied and interesting range of council services for the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.

Torbay, like many Councils, is facing difficult financial times. We are looking for a passionate individual to lead the Council’s financial support to services and to provide a constructive, but robust, challenge to ensure that the Council delivers the best services possible within the funding available.

You will be focussed on the continuation of the Council’s achievements in increasing its income, supporting ongoing changes in the delivery of services and seeking efficiencies. In particular you will have a key role in the maximisation of council tax and business rates income.

As this post is a Deputy Head of Finance role you will be a chartered accountant and will have experience of working with elected members, senior Council officers and key Council partners including those in health, local government and the private sector.

Torre Abbey is looking for a skilled Learning Officer to join the team at our thriving museum. You will assist with the design, development, implementation and evaluation of the cultural education and skills programme, working with the wider team, creative organisations and other professionals. You will develop a learning strategy to engage the public in line with the ethos of Torre Abbey in liaison with the Exhibitions and Programmes Officer and link this to seasonal programmes, visitor numbers and income targets. You will use educational projects and activities to develop audiences and encourage participation from under-represented groups. You will contribute to exhibition programmes and other support activities to develop informal learning experiences for all sections of the community.
