This consultation is now closed. The final date for feedback was 21 October 2016.

We are consulting on the geographical area where admission authorities within Torbay should consult when seeking feedback on their school admission arrangements.

We are proposing that admission authorities should consult across the whole of the Torbay Council area. This means that admission authorities will consult with all other admission authorities within Torbay (except that primary admission authorities do not need to consult with secondary admission authorities) as well as with parents of children between the ages of two and eighteen years who might have a child at the school now or in the future, Devon County Council and the local diocese (for faith schools).

What is an admission authority?

Torbay Council is the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools.

Academies (including free schools), foundation(trust) and voluntary aided schools are their own admission authority.
