Access Keys

Access keys provide you with a keyboard shortcut to help navigate through the main areas of our site .
Listed below are the recommended UK Government Access Keys Standard which can be used on all Government sites implementing access keys.  Those highlighted are currently in use on this website:

Using Access Keys

Access keys work slightly differently depending on the computer and browser you are using. Listed below is a description of how to use access keys on the more popular browser.

Internet Explorer

Hold down the Alt and press the number of the access key. Prior to Internet Explorer 8 hold down Alt + Access Key followed by Enter.

Firefox, Mozilla (PC)

Hold down the Alt + Shift keys and press the number of the access key.

Firefox, Mozilla (Mac)

Hold down the Ctrl key and press the number of the access key.

Safari (Mac)

Hold down the Ctrl key and press the number of the access key.

Safari (PC)

Hold down the Alt key and press the number of the access key.

Opera

Hold down the Shift key and press Escape, release both keys, then press the number of the accesskey.
