The Assistant Director for Planning and Transport considered an application the addition of a single-storey, 1-bedroom, dwelling house in the southwestern part of the grounds of St Edmunds House which would provide temporary affordable housing for vulnerable people.

Approved subject to the conditions detailed in the Planning Notice.

Alternative options included deferring or refusing the application.

The decision of the Assistant Director can be implemented with immediate effect.

Prior to the Assistant Directors’ consideration of the planning application a report was published on the Council’s Website which set out the proposed application, submitted written representations and site details of the application.  Since publication of the decision pack no further negative representations were received.

Prior to consideration of the application the Planning Committee and the Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Planning and Culture were consulted, and the case report was duly published in advance allowing for the opportunity for further representations by any elected member.
